From Bowen down to Scenic Rim is about 1200+ km. We don’t want to drive more than 400km a day, because we tow a van behind our car so we just want to take it easy. On the way down first night we stayed in Marlborough ,about 420km. We went check out free camping at the roadhouse (shower for $5 p/p) and Marlborough Hotel ( you can camping behind Hotel only $10p/n ). They didn’ look great also we don’t have any water with us , so we decided to go to Caravan Park.
Next day , we drove About 430 km to Childers. Arrived in Childers rest area, a beautiful free campground. It has everything you need such as portable water, dump point etc, just in town center with walking distance of IGA, what a perfect location. Drive went well today, We got warned that on the way down to Rocky has a lot of potholes ⚠️. There’s a lots of people got tyres down even broken the rim. And Yes! heaps of potholes on Bruce Highway, the highway is in a very bad state at the moment. There was also a excident on the road, someone ran into back of another car just before trafic light for road works. Looked like everyone was ok but car was badly damaged…
Heading to our friends in the Sunshine Coast. we will be there tomorrow only 240 km. It’s fairly hot during the day. The car is running very well and our caravan is awesome 😎 only day 6, but we feel like we lived on the road for a month already.
