East coast trip part 8: Eungella national park

First time we started traveling early. We left around 9:00 am early for us.
We headed to Mackay and did a visit to the information center . The lady told us we could see platypus in the wild in Eungelle, broken river. We decide to go there the lady told us the camping is accessed by dirt road. We didn’t like that. We went anyway for a look. It was a hard drive for the car. The road was so steep. Never did a road like this with a car, quit exciting. We arrived in broken river looked for the camping it was a non access camping. So we had to walk 500m with all of our stuff didn’t like that. Drove back to the town Eungelle where we saw a caravan park didn’t expect much of it. But when we arrived we saw this beautiful view. Just amazing we could camp on the top of the hill how good is that!
Friendly people and comfortable place to stay.

Caravan park Eungelle 25 dollar a night around 60km from Mackay. Best view ever.

Bit of rain last night but when we got out the tent saw outside fog covered the mountain ,still the view is just so beautiful and weather was turning good. We went into the forest for a walk. We did first circuit from Eungella township to sky window it took 2hours bit shame didn’t see any animals. On the route they had a beautiful tree arch and great views. Little break after we went to the broken river. We did the other forest walk and waited for the platypus to show up , we saw a platypus and a bird playing together great sight.
When we went back to the camping it started to get foggy again no more then 20m sight bit scary. Arrived at the camping and relaxt a bit. Went to the kitchen where we met some great people from Brisbane. Had a good talk with them about our next destination. I think this is the best part of traveling meeting new people listening to there story’s.
