Picking up the caravan

After 14 months on waiting list, finally it’s time to pick up our new home.

Before pick up day ,We spend 2 days with our dear friends Greg and Trish in sunshine coast. We stayed in they PALACE in Pelican waters , which was amazing !! They spoiled us so bad. We were thinking of driving there with the caravan but the city is to busy and as a first time caravaner we didn’t think it was a good idea. So after wonderful stay , great meals and good rest , we got loaded up with fresh garden vegetables, Greg’s special Jems and home made yogurt. How lucky are we to have such friend.

After got super spoiled now is the time to pick our new home. A bit nervous in the morning about driving it. The caravan got trucked up to sunshine coast from Melbourne. So we picked it up from the truck driver home…….haha…… We thought it was a depot ended up being his backyard. Nothing wrong with that but we just didn’t expect that. The truck driver was very helpful and friendly. Hooked the caravan up and ready to go. His driveway was steep so another challenge straight away. But we made it.

Our new home – We call it Lucky

On the road it went well the car was doing great. Now on the highway and headed west out of the busy cities. Our first night was at Mundubbera . we were so excited no more tent setting up and packing up ,how good is it . All the pro caravaners came out and saw we are newbies. So we got loads of tips. The Park had a free sausage sizzle and fire on Sunday night so we had that for dinner also celebrated our first night . We made our bed for the first night in the caravan. We had a hot shower inside the van which was great. The shower and toilet was bigger then we thought it would be ( I’m tall) so we are very happy with this. the night was cold so why not to try out our new toy , so we had the heather on as well so many luxuries to having a caravan, just love it !!

Next day, we were still hooked up so it was a easy pack up so much quicker. Now we are headed for Dingo. About 400kms trip we spend 7 hours including 2 stopped. We didn’t realize how long this trip will takes with a caravan only 60-90 km/h ,started 9am and arrived just 4pm. we were bit tired of driving not really our style of traveling. Anyway this time we staying Dingo for 2 night and we gonna visit Blackdown Tablelands NP. Apparently this is a beautiful National Park with amazing waterfalls and waterholes so we are excited.
